AOC Languedoc, often referred to as the worlds biggest vineyard, stretches across from the Pyrenees to Provence across a vast section of the south of France. Whilst home to both simple table wine and world class quality wines, it is above all famous for it’s variety of grapes, of terroirs, of climates and consequently it’s blended wines. Across the 150miles of vines climates and soils range greatly; from a truly cool, maritime climate to warmer and drier continental climates affected by mountains and strong winds.
Domaine de La Font des Ormes is on the outskirts of the village of Caux, in the Pézenas appellation in the middle of the Languedoc wine production area. The domain of La Font des Ormes is located on a unique terroir made from a mixture of basalt and extremely rare limestone. Here, associated with biodynamic viticulture, this terroir allows the cultivation and production of exceptional wines. Under the watchful eye of owner Guy and his head of culture Mireille, and in a constant concern to preserve and restore biodiversity, the Domaine de La Font des Ormes changes with the seasons.
