Autréau-Lasnot
The Story
Champagne Autréau-Lasnot is a family-run grower estate based in Venteuil, in the Vallée de la Marne. The family has been established in the village since the early 20th century, with the domaine founded in 1932. Today, the fifth generation, Fabrice and Florent Autréau, run the estate alongside their partners. The estate farms around 15–17 hectares across Venteuil and neighbouring villages, with plantings of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Meunier is the dominant variety, reflecting the character of the Vallée de la Marne. Viticulture is increasingly focused on sustainability, with part of the estate in conversion to organic farming. In the cellar, the approach is straightforward, with full malolactic fermentation commonly used and blends made from multiple recent vintages to maintain consistency.
Winemaking
Champagne Brut NV is a 50/50 blend of Chardonnay and Blanc de Noirs, with the latter made from Pinot Noir and Meunier. The cuvée combines wines from several harvests, with the current release made from 67% 2022–23 wines and 33% 2024. The base wines undergo full malolactic fermentation before the final blend is bottled for its second fermentation. The Champagne is finished with a moderate 9 g/L dosage.
