Parajes del Valle - new releases

Parajes del Valle is one of the most exciting new names in southeastern Spain—founded in 2018 and led by winemaker María Jover (previously of Vega Sicilia) who was still in her 20s at the time. Working across both Manchuela and Jumilla, the estate focuses on certified organic old-vine grapes grown on strikingly different soils: clay-limestone in Manchuela, where water retention and wide temperature swings define the wines; and sandy-loam in Jumilla, where poor, dry soils naturally lower yields and boost concentration. In both regions, limestone plays a crucial role in preserving acidity and freshness by retaining cool night-time temperatures.

A cornerstone of their philosophy is their commitment to the traditional terraje system - a historic but fading model in Jumilla. Under this arrangement, local growers rent land and care for the vines themselves, returning a portion (typically 7%) of the harvest to the landowner. Parajes del Valle pays above-market rates to support these growers, protecting both vineyard heritage and rural livelihoods. Macabeo Maceración has been our best selling wine for 3 years now and, upon its release last year, García Pérez Blanco Litro sold out in two months. Luckily the rest of the range are bottled in much larger quantities to meet this demand. The latest arrivals are tasting so well and we can't wait to share them with you.
