The Cote de la Moliere estate, founded in 1987, is situated in Vauxrenard 5km from Fleurie in the northwest corner of Beaujolais. In 1989, Bruno Perraud, a 6th generation grower, was joined by his wife Isabelle as they acquired more vines, increasing the domaine from 1.5 hectare to 8.5 hectares. It was in 1999 that Bruno fell seriously ill from insecticide poisoning and realising the need for a complete overhaul to their viticulture, they made the shift towards organic farming. Now the wines are all certified organic, some certified biodynamic and almost all certified Vin Méthode Nature (hand-picked, organic grapes, fermented only with indigenous yeasts with very low levels of added sulphur). Their cuvées are neither filtered nor fined.
